10 miles in 1:14:30 About 7:30 per mile. I have been stopping every 3 miles or so and did have some shooting pain at the bottom of one hill today. I'm thinking my form problem can be improved with arm usage alone. I have been delaying the arm motion and keeping it very forward, so my elbows don't pass behind my body. That seemed to free up the tension on the hamstrings and give me some mobility for upper body propulsion. I got to figure out if my hips are healthy right now or not and get going with two intensive lifting sessions next week. I guess one of my first goals as far as workouts will be to do this same workout in one month but at 6:00-6:30 pace the whole way. The route was main street to chase and then weaving down to the overpass, coming back on the dirt roads, then hitting Farmington Jr. and home. Just under 10 miles. So I want to get around 1 hour in one month. Then maybe do it at 5:30 pace in July. |
